Moved Post Notifications - Group Owners?

Did you find a setting for this? I've never seen any notifications when posts are moved. I can't find any documentation about this either.

These are settings which would be controlled at the user level.

Say User A creates Thread ABC in Forum A, and Moderater M later moves it to Forum B.

• If User B has thread notifications enabled for Forum A, they would get two notifications:
  • First, notification that Thread ABC was created
  • Later, notification that it was moved to Forum B
• If User C has thread notifications enabled for Forum B, they would get one notification:
  • That Thread ABC was moved to Forum B

Out-of-the box it's on the Forum home page, a button for "Turn Forum notifications on".  Rendered by the 'Forums - Links' widget.

Thanks Steven! It seems like forum notifications have to be on to get notified if a thread was moved. Will version 12 show that a thread was moved from X forum to Y forum? I'll have to test this because I've never seen it before. Do you have an example of what it should look like?

This doc is helpful When do notifications go to Subscribers?  but does not go into detail if a piece of content was moved to another forum or group.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking... There is no lingering info on the content itself like a "This was moved from" message, it would just be a notification for those subscribed.

Ok, I think I am clear now. Thank you. I know that in version 12 there will be an audit log and I was wondering if there would be a way to indicate that the forum thread was moved.

Yes, it will show as an edit to the thread in the Audit Log, but that log info is disconnected from the content itself. There's not a way to pull data from the audit log by contentid.
