At times, an administrator might need to view the site from a particular user's perspective to troubleshoot a problem or verify his/her user experience is correct.
Impersonation only works with auth type = Forms. It does not work with Windows Authentication or Single Sign On.
To impersonate a user:
- Navigate to Control Panel > System Administration > Membership Administration > Members and Roles > Manage Users.
- Search for the user.
- Click Edit next to the user you want to impersonate. The Admin tab for this user appears.
- Click Impersonate User.
You are immediately taken to the site, logged in as that user, and can navigate throughout the site as that user. To confirm that you are impersonating, "stop impersonating" appears when you click the user avatar.

Only users with the Site - Impersonate Users permission are allowed to impersonate others.
