Telligent Community Server has two features that help you control bad language on the site.
The first is the bad words filter, which was previously present in the platform. This is a site-wide content modification service that can be used to replace objectionable words with other words. For example, profanity could be replaced with *** (which is the default, but you can specify other terms). This service does not flag content as abusive or moderate it - it only censors bad portions of the content.
The second is the Abuse Detection via Forbidden Word Counts plugin. This plugin lets you specify words that cause a piece of content (such as a post or status message) to be considered abusive and removes the post from the site. You can specify particular types of content to exclude from the filter.
