Tracking site visits

By default, Telligent Community tracks visits by internal roles with cookies that expire after a specified period.

To configure visit tracking parameters for members and anonymous visitors:

  1. Mouse over Management.
  2. Click Administration.
  3. Navigate to Authentication > Cookies > External authentication.
  4. Specify the following information:
    1. Cookie path field - Specify the location path of site cookies.
    2. Cookie domain field - Domain for the cookie (defaults to "localhost".
  5. Click Save.
  6. Navigate to Integration > User Synchronization cookie.
  7. Enable or fill in the following information:
    1. Enable user synchronization cookie - Enables external OAuth applications to detect whether a user is authenticated on the site.
    2. Cookie domain -  If desired, create cookies that are insensitive to the domain, or if your community spans multiple subdomains, specify your subdomain in this field. 
    3. Cookie name - The cookie name used to keep track of visits. Provided to applications that use the cookie for synchronization.
  8. Click Save.
