Q&A threads have the following characteristics:
Thread status
- Q&A threads are useful for supporting community members who have questions they haven't been able to find answers to.
- The status of a thread is indicated by color: yellow for suggested answer, or green for verified answer.
- Verified answers appear on every page of a thread (just under the original question) to help users who follow an external link to quickly see the answer.
- Verified answers can be rejected.
- Thread status is shown on the Profile > Questions tab if you select "I have this question too."
Answer promotion (new in 9.0)
- Forum thresholds can be configured to automatically promote answers to suggested or verified when they receive enough verifications. When users select "Verify answer" on a reply, the answer becomes a suggested answer (provided the number of verifications reaches the configured suggested answer threshold). Once the number of readers who verify it hits the verified answer threshold, the answer becomes verified.
- If the thread starter verifies the answer, the answer is automatically marked as such, even if its total verified answer votes don't reach the forum threshold.
Common questions (new in 9.0)
- A user can identify questions he/she also has with an "I have this question too" button. If he/she clicks the button, the option changes to "I do not have this question" and the vote count increases. If he/she changes his/her mind and deselects the sentence, the vote count beside the sentence goes back down.
Thread sorting
- A user can sort his own questions ("Questions I've participated in") in the Thread List widget.
- Threads can be sorted by the number of votes. (New in 9.0)
- A user can filter questions he also has along with his own questions in My Threads. (New in 9.0)
