User interface customizations
The embed code you use for embeddable forum threads allows you to customize the design or text of the elements generated by the embed script. The generated HTML code, CSS, and post text are defined in the resources.xml file located in the Web\Languages\[language code] (Web\Languages\en-US for example) folder.
All of the customizable resources are prefixed with EmbeddedForum.
Page URL and migration options
If the remote page requires QueryString options to uniquely identify the content of the page, or if a page has been moved to a new location and existing comments should be preserved, you can use the hosturl option.
hosturl is a QueryString addition to the embed script's URL that you can use to identify the unique page URL for comments on the page. By default, the remote page's URL is used without respect to QueryString or target information.
If QueryString information is required for identifying the external page, you should set the hosturl QueryString option in the embed script's URL.
Similarly, if a page's URL has changed due to a migration or a reorganization of content, you can use the hosturl QueryString option to reference the old URL and preserve the comments of the old page.
The following example shows how you can use the hosturl property to set the URL identifying the content being discussed.
If the unique URL is http://mysite.com/path/page.aspx?pageid=1234, then the embed code can be modified to include a hosturl, for example:
<script
type="text/javascript"
src="http://forum.example.com/cs/forums/5/embed.aspx?hosturl=http%3A%2F%2Fmysite.com%2Fpath%2Fpage.aspx%3Fpageid%3D1234">
</script>
Note that the URL identified by the hosturl QueryString option must be properly URL encoded.
