To set up the Email properties for your site:
- Mouse over Management.
- Click Administration.
- Navigate to Setup > Site Options.
- Click Email settings.
- Fill in or select an option in the following properties:
- Enable Email - Enable email for the website forums. Users will not receive email notifications from forums if this property is disabled. (Note: This setting must be enabled to successfully enable the Mail Gateway forum settings.)
- Enable Email Digest - Enables registered users to receive a daily and weekly group email digest of group activity.
- Notification From Email Address - Specify the email address of your site, which is a no-reply address users see when they receive email notifications from the site.
- Email Domain - Specify the site domain name that all email addresses will be used in, such as "mysite.com."
- Email Encoding - Specify the character encoding format used for email messages. The default format is utf-8. Telligent Community Server also supports utf-7, unicode, and us-ascii.
- Email Subject Encoding - Specify the character encoding format used for email subjects. The default format is utf-8. Community Server also supports utf-7, unicode, and us-ascii.
- SMTP Server - The SMTP server that you use to send mail for your site.
- Email Timeout - Time, in milliseconds, to wait before a timeout occurs when sending email.
- Email logo - Navigate to a file or revert to the default image.
- Use SMTP over SSL - Enable an SSL connection with your SMTP server.
- Use Windows Integrated Authentication - The current process security context is used to authenticate with the service.
- SMTP Server Login Required - Enable to require a login for the SMTP server.
- SMTP Server Loginname - If required, specify the SMTP server login name.
- SMTP Server Password - If required, specify the SMTP server password.
- SMTP Port Number - If required, specify the port number used for sending SMTP mail.
- Enable mail gateway - Enable or disable Mail Gateway for the site.
- Max attachment size (in bytes) - Allows up to this size in bytes.
- Enable message header logging - When enabled, email information - such as an email notification about a wiki page update - is logged in the Event Log.
- Click Save to apply the settings.
