You can embed a media file into any kind of content post using the editor Insert media button. Telligent Community allows you to:
- Upload the file from YouTube or a web URL.
- Upload the file from a hard drive.
- Upload the file from search within your community. The supported media file types are specified on the User Files page.
Insert a media file for any content in a wiki, blog, or forum post
- In the enhanced text editor, click Insert > Insert image/video/file. The insert/edit media dialog box appears.
- In the From drop-down list, select the source option for the media.
- Refer to and follow the appropriate section below for specific instructions by media location.
Embed a file from a web URL
- In the From drop-down list, select Web (URL).
- In the URL field, paste the file URL for the media. The preview appears.
- If desired, resize the file with the Dimensions settings. Telligent Community automatically recognizes the size of most videos.
- Click OK.
Notes:
Using this setting will not cause the content to be uploaded or in any way transferred to your Telligent Community site. This option will simply link the media file to your post.
Some media types, such as video, are capable of streaming directly from your post, so it may appear as if it is on your site.
Embed a file from a computer
- In the From drop-down list, select File Upload. In the File field of the Insert/Edit media dialog box, browse to find the file.
- Click Open or Choose in the dialog box. If the file is a graphic, a preview of it might appear in the preview window.
- If appropriate or desired, resize the file with the Dimensions settings.
- Click OK.
Embed a file from the Telligent Community site
- In the From drop-down list, select Community (Search).
- In the Search field, enter the search term.
- Click the desired item in the search result.
- Click OK.
