The blog Default Settings page specifies site-wide settings options for all community blogs. You can enable various functionalities here like blog autocreate, cross-posting, and blog file storage.
To add or change the blog Default Settings page properties:
- Mouse over Management.
- Click Administration. The Administration panel appears.
- Navigate to Applications > Applications.
- Click Blog application and content type. The Blog application and content type tabs appear.
- Click Default Settings. The default settings tab appears.
- Specify or enable the following properties:
- Auto Create - If enabled, creates a blog for every new user that on your site from the point that it's enabled.
- Enable Cross-Posting - If enabled, blog owners can cross-post to remote sites via the Metablog API.
- Enable Blog Owners to add content to HTML Head - If enabled, blog owners can enter raw script and meta tags in their blog HTML header. Note that enabling this option could present a security risk on large sites where you may not know or trust all users. The default setting is disabled.
- Enable Email Subscriptions - If enabled, allows site visitors who aren't registered or logged in, including Anonymous, to subscribe to blogs and receive emails when blog content is updated.
- Default ping services - Specify the services that Telligent Community Server will ping when a post is added or edited. The sites entered here will be the default for all blogs unless the ping service is overridden at the blog level. By default, the services are weblogs.com and pingomatic. Separate any new entries with semicolons.
- Enable blog file storage - If enabled, files for the blog can be saved on the web server and used in blog posts.
- Disk space quota for blog - The storage, in kilobytes, allowed for each blog's file storage. Default is 25. Entering a zero will remove disk space restrictions for the files.
- Maximum file size - The largest size (in kilobytes) that any one file can be in the blog storage space.
- Click Save to apply your settings.
