TIP Addresses are collected for many content types (blog posts, forum threads/replies, comments) and are available through the API for users who have permission to moderate that content. This feature is useful when you want to track down user(s) who post offensive content or you have cause to ban an IP address .
IP addresses are displayed
- In the moderation queue: for supporting content, the Author Details tab in the moderation queue will include the IP address used to create the content.
- In the default forums UI: the originating IP address is displayed next to the author's name to moderators.
