Description
Purpose
This widget allows you to specify whether to show member applicable notifications on the desktop, in slide-out messages, (additionally to the default Notification Queue); how long to display the desktop messages, and how many items to display in the Queue within a seven-day limit. You can't use this configuration to change the appearance of the notifications. To do this, you'd need to edit the widget or theme.

This widget works in the site footer.
Configuration
Place and configure the widget
- Go to the Community Home Page
- Click Pencil Icon > Manage Site Theme > Edit this Page
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Edit Footer
- Select the User - Notifications widget on the page
- Click on
in the widget menu bar. The configuration dialog appears. - Duration - Number of seconds to display the notification. Default = 10
- Display Mode - Select how notifications will render. By default, notifications use the less intrusive alert mode.

- Desktop Notifications - When checked, notifications will be displayed on the desktop if possible.
- Click Save to exit the configuration dialog.
- Click Publish when complete.
