A knowledge collection is a collection of knowledge documents, or articles, that are authored in Verint Knowledge Management and pulled into Telligent Community for public consumption. A knowledge collection allows you to create filtered views of Knowledge Management articles, referred to going forward as knowledge documents, so that you can target specific knowledge topics to specific areas of your community based on your community's topology. Knowledge collections are applications similar to blogs and wikis and as such are tied to a group.
The biggest difference is that knowledge documents, the content of a knowledge collection are not authored inside Telligent Community. They instead are created in Verint Knowledge Management and synchronized to Telligent Community at regular intervals. The management of, creation and editing of knowledge documents is all done in the parent Knowledge Management system.
Before you can create knowledge collections, first you must configure your community to connect to Verint Knowledge Management and synchronize your content. If you have already done this, then you can create a knowledge collection.
The feature discussed in this article is only available in Telligent Community 10.2 and higher. It also requires that you are running a licensed version of Verint Knowledge Management Pro or Enterprise v15.3 or higher and OpenAM as the Knowledge Management API authentication provider.
