Community Engagement Widget

This widget gives your community members a visual indicator of actions they should take on the Community to increase their engagement. A gray checkmark is shown next to the activity until the user has completed the activity.  Once completed, a green checkmark will be shown.  The progress bar will also fill as members complete engagement activities.

This widget can be placed on the Community homepage to show engagement across all sub-groups or it can be placed inside of a Group to show engagement in that particular group and it's sub-groups.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Import the widget named CommunityEngagement-Widget into the Verint Community Widget Studio (Administration > Interface > Widgets > Import).
  2. Navigate to the page you would like to show the "Community Engagement" widget on and add it to the page (Pencil > Edit Group Theme > Edit this Page).
  3. Once the widget is placed on the page, click the "gear icon" to enable or disable the activities you want to show.  By default, all activities are enabled.
    1. Activity choices are:
      1. Update Avatar
      2. Update Bio
      3. Comment on a Blog Post

Can we tap into the API of this widget to pull data on how many people have performed a particular action? For example if I wanted to know how many members have changed their avatar, could I somehow extract that data?

Hi lallison , this widget is using out-of-the-box APIs to pull it's data.  No custom APIs were created for this one.

In it's current state, it is only looking to see if the action has been completed for the logged in user.  If there are other actions you are thinking would be useful please post them and I'll add them to the backlog for possible future implementation.

Unfortunately, this widget will not tell you how many members have completed a specific activity.  If you have a specific list of data metrics you are looking for, that aren't in our out-of-the-box reporting suite, I would submit an idea for those here.

Hi Elijah. What happens when a user has completed all the tasks that are set out in the widget? Does the widget disappear or will it stay there for evermore? Could they be rewarded with a specific acheivement badge for completing all the engagement tasks?

Hi LisaM - When a user completes all tasks the widget stays visible.  There is a configuration option to hide the progress bar, but the rest of the widget stays visible.

The current functionality does not give an achievement, but I like that idea!

I've added both of these ideas to the backlog and we'll include them in the next release of the widget.  I'm hoping this will be ready before the end of the year.  I'll follow-up here once it's complete and available.
