- Platform Architecture
  - Community is built on .NET 10
    - Existing solutions build on the older .NET framework will need to be updated to support .NET 10.
  - Community and its dependent services are now fully containerized.
  - Community container images are linux based and multi-architecture(arm64/amd64).
- Extensibility/Development
  - Platform Development Changes
    - Local development with container images incorporates a docker compose stack for ease of setup and deployment in your container management application of choice.
    - Platform API templates and reference libraries for development are supplied via NuGet.
    - Integrations utilizing database access will live in their own isolated schemas, with programmatic access facilitated through the new ISqlServerConnectedPlugin plugin type.
  - Configuration properties for plugins and widgets now support storing sensitive values securely.
  - Explicit serialization is required for items stored in distributed cache.
  - REST APIs no longer use the /api.ashx/ in the url and should be changed to simply /api/. ASHX will continue to work in 14.0 but is obsolete and should be changed during required changes.
  - CFS now supports detecting and replacing files in HTML using the in-process API.
  - CFS now supports getting files by Url in the scripting and in-process API.
- Features
  - Video Transcoder is now included in community and not a separate installation.
  - Language translations now use the Portable Object(.po) format instead of XML and exporting and importing has been centralized to a single adminstration location.
    - Site terms that were previously configured within administration have been removed.
  - Document conversion, text extraction and image resizing now use updated libraries.
  - Audit log entires are now generated when a member data is exported.
  - Virus scanning is now available for uploaded files.
  - Reporting ETL process now runs as a standard community job and not an external service.
  - Improved surfacing of Telemetry data for better community insight.

**Community 14 standardizes platform-defined service URLs under /api and /sys (e.g., api.ashx → api, socket.ashx → sys/socket, cfs-file → sys/file), adds redirects from the old paths with improved redirect and URL-generation logic, and updates all widgets and scripts to use the new URLs.
