The 4 Roads Passkey Support Plugin adds modern passwordless authentication to Verint Community, allowing members to sign in using secure passkeys instead of traditional passwords. What are passkeys?

Passkeys are a secure alternative to passwords. Instead of asking users to remember and type a password, passkeys use cryptographic authentication built into the user’s device, browser, or password manager.

When a member signs in, their device proves that they are the legitimate user without sending a password to the community platform.

How it works

With the Passkey Support Plugin, members can register a passkey against their Verint Community account. Once registered, they can use that passkey to authenticate securely during future sign-ins.

The authentication process is based on public-key cryptography:

• The user’s private key remains securely stored on their device or passkey provider.

• Verint Community stores only the corresponding public key.

• No reusable password is transmitted during sign-in.

• The private key is never shared with Verint Community, 4 Roads, or any third-party service.

The value of zero-knowledge security

Traditional password systems require the platform to store password-related data, such as password hashes. Even when handled properly, those credentials remain a target for attackers and can create risk if users reuse passwords across services.

Passkey authentication removes that risk. The platform does not need to know, store, or process the user’s password because there is no password to verify.
