The bulk upload members functionality allows you to bulk upload members to the community as well as bulk upload members to a specific Group.
Bulk Creating users in the Community
Bulk create users in your community with a few simple steps:
- You will just need to create a .csv file with the users you want to create
- The .csv file will contain the email address, username, and display name
- A custom widget will be leveraged and you will upload the file using this widget
- A job will get the uploaded file and add the users
- Once complete you will receive a conversation notification stating how many users have been created.
Bulk Adding Members to a Group
Bulk add members to a group (and the Community) with just a few simple steps:
- You will just need to create a .csv file with the users you want to add to the Group
- The .csv file will contain the email address, username, and display name
- A custom widget will be leveraged and you will upload the file using this widget
- The plugin will read the file and add the users as a member of the group
- If a user does not exist in the Community, the user will be created automatically
- Once complete you will receive a conversation notification stating how many users have been created
Additional information about this plugin:
- If you are using SSO with your community, the users will need to be created in your IDP with the same information before you create them in the Community
- Depending on the type of SSO and any custom workflows you have implemented, this plugin may not work.
- Users who are not members of the Community will have an account created
- Before they can log in, each user will need to go through the reset password process to create their own password
- Users who are added to a Group will receive the “Welcome to the Group” notification
- Users who are added to the Community will receive the "Welcome to the Community" notification
- The top row of the user file should NOT include a header. The expectation is that the first row is actual user data
