Not really, Logging in requires a PostBack, so in order to not leave the POST state a redirect should be issued..especially since if you are on the login page, you can't be there logged in. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but you could try the Login override that allows ReturnToCurrentUrl, then at least you stay put.
