Permissions to edit/publish blog drafts

I've just run into an issue in our community where a user can't find/edit a blog post he saved as draft.

He is the group manager, and has the following permissions on a blog from a "Blog" role:

  • Attach Uploaded FilesEnables users to upload files as attachments to posts. This permission does not apply to files uploaded into the content of posts.
  •  Attach URLsEnables users to attach URLs to posts. This permission does not apply to URLs inserted into the content of posts.
  •  Create CommentsEnables users to comment on posts that enable commenting.
  •  Create PostsEnables users to create posts in a blog.
  •  Edit PostsEnables users to edit any user's post .Users can always edit their own posts if they have 'Create Posts' permission.
  •  Moderate and Review AbuseEnables users to moderate and review abuse within a blog.
  •  Rate PostsEnables users to rate posts when rating is enabled for the post.
  •  Read BlogEnables users to view/read blog content.

He does not have these permissions:

  •  Bypass ValidationIdentifies users whose files should not be validated against allowed file type and size restrictions
  •  Delete CommentsEnables users to delete any user's comment on a post. Users can always delete their own comments.
  •  Delete PostsEnables users to delete any user's post. Users can always delete their own posts if they have 'Create Posts' permission.
  •  Edit CommentsEnables users to edit any user's comment on a post.
  •  Manage BlogEnables users to edit a blog's options.
  •  Manage Blog ThemeEnables users to edit the theme selection, headers, pages, and footers of a blog.
  •  Manage Custom PagesEnables users to create/delete a blog's custom pages.

He sees the "Manage Pages" button and assumed that was where he would find his draft blog post.   It's not, of course, and I don't know why he would see that button, but he clicks on this and it gives a generic error: "An error has occured.  Try again or contact your administrator".   Of course he can't access that area buy why does he have the button?   How does he edit a post he put in draft status?  Are there somethign wrong with the permissions?   Is there  a button that should show to allow him to do that? ( I can see the draft in the Administration button that he doesn't have).   It seems a blog poster that saves his post in draft status to work on later should be able to easily access it to continue working on it.

Any guidance would be appreciated.   Thanks - Kim
