When upgrading from 11 to 13 what about sso authentication?

hello,

When upgrading from version 11 to 13. The version 11 currently has SSO CookieAuth enabled, with external authentication system. Will it cause any problem after the upgrade? Or can I continue with the upgrade and will able to continue to log in after login. I have been trying to access localaccess page on my app server. But I have not been able to do that. Thanks for any guidance.

CredSpark Survey/Poll not appearing in the Email Digest

Recently we integrated CredSpark with our Community. We embedded CredSpark Survey/Polls in some of our content. However in the email digest those Survey/Polls are not appearing (getting the message "This embeddable may not be viewed in the current render target." in the email). Please suggest anyway we can display those in the digest emails.

How to change the preheader of the email notifications - without changing the place of the logo

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to figure out in email studio where to change the preheader of my email.

See this example. I would like to - same as the other emails below - add informative information in the preheader.

Now, as you can see in the top two emails, it shows the name of the image file of our community logo.

Where and how can I change the preheader of the email, without changing the place of the logo?

Creating notifications plugins

We use User Notification widget these days to have more visibility in the platform, specially for Forum Thread activities. On of the things we found very useful is when a user can get a notification every time a forum thread is verified, however, there's a step in the middle, which is the Suggested Answer. I saw there is no notification for that event and I was wondering if we could create a custom one using an INotificationType plugin. So, couple of questions here:

Is is possible to create a custom notification for Suggested Answer?
If #1 is possible, could you give me some insights on which event should we use, like in Verint's sample, for a new comment event, we need to use Apis.Get<IComments>().Events.AfterCreate

What is the definition of 'remember me'

Does anyone know what Verint’s definition for the “Remember me” option is?

It is most probably based on a cookie but what exact cookie is being used for this is unclear to me. Where to set this, what is it based on and how can I make sure it is disabled by default?

Auth0 SSO not working

Hi,

I am trying to setup SSO using auth0. I have setup as per the documentation on Verint site to enable SSO using OpenID.

I am able to somewhat login by manipulating the url, but once logged in.

My account, which is Admin, is giving

Access Denied

You do not have permission to perform the requested action.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

All the roles and users relations have been migrated to auth0 already. The users/roles are still there in the Verint.

New Manager - Join groups and sign up for notifications in bulk?

Hi Y'all!

I am joining a robust community as a community manager and I'm looking to join all of the groups and forums, and get alerts for for event notifications in bulk. I'm not seeing a way to do that in the documentation and I am not finding any similar questions in the history. Rather than continuing to go one by one through each and every group which takes multiple clicks (join the group, go to the event calendar, turn on notifications for the event calendar, go to my email preferences, subscribe to the digests, etc.) I'm hoping someone here knows of a more efficient way to manage membership in groups through the admin panel rather than the end user interface.

iFrames

New to Verint, so coming from a place of ignorance! I was looking though the settings and I see there is a way to enable iframes in all the different types of content. We have this disabled so I was wondering if there are any risks or issues with enabling iframe functionality for embedding videos in announcements or blog posts.

Possible to check if password is same as the current/existing password

To make our community more secure, we want to automatically 'check' if a new password that the user is creating, is the same as the existing password (in the password reset flow).

Is this possible with Verint 13. out of the box, to configure? Or is it even possible at all?

If I want to report on new members in a specific time frame for my closed group, how would I do that? The new members report includes everyone and no way to identify which group they joined.

Can we have a different 'from' and 'reply to' email address?

Hi! For our community, we do want to set a different from (noreply@) emailaddress than the reply to emailaddress (info@) . Is it possible to configure different emailaddresses in the community for 'from' and 'reply to'? And does it matter if you have access to the mail server for the 'reply to' emailaddress that you set, or can I hypothetically add any emailaddress?

Weird behavior of post button when creating an idea

We just recently upgraded to version 13 and noticed that sometimes when posting a new idea, the Post button at the bottom of the page is grayed out like it would be if the form was missing required information. When hovering over the post button when it's gray we see a red circle with a slash through it indicating you cannot click the post button, but when we do click the post button in this state it still creates the idea. Has anyone else seen this? Is this the appropriate place to report bugs like this?

Privacy by default: how to make sure privacy display settings are disabled by default?

Hello everyone! In the community, as a user on profile settings you have the option to checkmark several settings, such as 'allow private messages from connections only', visibility who's online and share bookmarks. Also (especially) the setting 'show in search results' is something I would like to have disabled by default and let users checkmark and choose for themselves if they want to be shown in search.

How do I configure these settings and make sure they are by default unchecked/off?

Registered users unable to mention users not in thread

We recently upgraded to version 13. Since we've updated, within the Forums application, registered users are not able to mention any user that isn't in the thread, but moderators and admin are able to. I'm having trouble locating the permission or setting this is tied to. Any help is appreciated!

Do we create a Profile "Product Tech Team" which can be accessed by multiple people?

Admin notification for Video Transcoder

Hi All,

This morning, I was notified by a customer that their video hadn't uploaded. On review, the video transcoding had stopped 2 days ago, with multiple videos not converted.

Once I was aware of the issue, I could get the transcoder to work again. (Cancelled what seems to be the offending file)

Does anyone know or have anything in place, which notifies administrators that the Video transcoder has stopped working? By setting a limit of 5 videos not converted, a notification is sent to an Administrator to review.

This has happened enough to warrant a warning system.

Staus Message Rest Api Message Body limit

Blog Editing Process Not Completing

Hi Community,

I'm running into an issue when trying to edit a blog post where I'm able to make the edits but the posting process never finishes after I hit post. I see a continuous loop of three dots next to the Cancel button. I've tried refreshing the page and nothing happens.

Is anyone else encountering this?

User Account Banned Temporarily

Hi,

We are banning an account for 15 minutes using the user update option. In Administration > Membership > User, the account correctly shows as banned.

However, even after the ban period has expired, the user account still appears as banned until a specific date.

Additionally, when a banned user attempts to log in after the ban has elapsed, the first attempt shows the message “Your account is banned.” But on subsequent attempts, the user is able to log in successfully.
