Removing Broken Bookmark Items

I have a bookmark on a user that has a contentId and a contentTypeId but all other aspects of the bookmark object are empty. This is resulting in bookmark.list breaking for the user and a forceful delete of the object returns an error since the item cannot be found. I can get the base item by using core_v2_content.get but obviously cannot delete the item from that point. Is there a way to bypass the safety check and just delete the item so that my user can see all their bookmarks again?

Error message when viewing calendar event

Good day forum,

We're setting up a new calendar, and this will be our first time using it to this extent. After adding events, on the event page I'm seeing the following error:

I have checked permissions on all possible levels, both the Group and Calendar levels. I'm seeing this for both anonymous and registered users.

The group where the calendar lives is joinless, and the event also doesn't require registration (we're using Teams for registration - this is more for the visual).

I cannot for the life of me find where this error is coming from. I've also checked all the widgets on the page - they were both reverted to default and the only custom edits are the resources (we have multiple languages).

I'm using version 13.0.2.33658 (there is a bug blocking us from upgrading)

We did find this bug in the Release notes:

TE-19274 - Fixed issue with creating calendar events error due to no event registration being present

But it doesn't feel like THIS particular issue, but I could be wrong. I appreciate any insights :)

What's considered a download?

In our v13 community, we've noticed that a particular video in a group media gallery has been doing very well - it's been downloaded 300 times. "Great!" I thought to myself as I headed to the video to see what was so interesting about it. However, when viewing the figures, as per 'How do I see download counts of files in a media gallery, I noticed my name in the stats. I definitely did not download the video, I merely viewed the page, I didn't even play the video! 😮

So, my questions:

Has anyone else noticed this?
Is it intended behaviour?
Is it a known bug (that I didn't know about)?

Copying and republishing forum content

A user in our community is copying and sharing customer and our content on GitHub. Content he has copied from the forums.

How have you addressed this with your communities?

Is there a way for a user to leave a Group without the widget?

We have community members looking to leave a group, but the Group Owners didn't insert the widget that allows a user to toggle their membership.

Is there another way a user can leave a group without Administrative or Owner engagement, or is the widget the only option?
It looks like you can unsubscribe from applications and content in your settings, but not leave the group.

Any idea when 13.0.5 is likely to be released?

Subscription Management Bundle Implementation Strategy

We're implementing the Subscription Management Bundle and would love to hear how others approached rollout and configuration.

A few questions we're working through:

How did you handle existing members versus new members?
Did you start with a limited set of subscriptions/notifications and expand over time, or implement everything at once?
What notification cadence have you found most effective (real-time vs. digest)?
Were there any settings or combinations that generated more notifications than expected?
Looking back, is there anything you'd do differently?

Our goal is to improve visibility into discussions and community activity while avoiding notification fatigue, so we're trying to strike the right balance before enabling automations at scale.

Any lessons learned or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Can I invite other community members to collaborate on an article?

Looking to use the articles app in a private group to provide a way where the group members can post up a strategy plan as an article but invite other specific individuals to also be able to edit the article as well.

I can't see a way of being able to do this for specific articles? Only via 'permissions' but that applies to a whole article collection and not individual ones.

Is there a way of doing this without a massively manual and convoluted work around?

Hey community members,

I'm hoping you can help me with a question around forum posts as announcements. There is a permission in the forums called "Forum - Mark Thread as Annoucement" and can be seen in the list of permissions here: Permissions defined

However, I cannot find any documentation on this and I don't see any options for this functionality in the forum options, application creation or even the group options. Does anyone know how this functionality works and where I can find it? I have double checked all the out of box widgets and still nothing.

We are using version 13.0.2

Search Ranking Breakdown

I've seen a few posts on how to prioritize search results by configuring Solr, but is there any information on how it ranks content for priority in the search results?

It looks like Tagging influences the results, and there is the option to populate only content X years old, but are there any other factors that may influence what populates on top and how those are weighted/ calculated? Do things like View Counts, Likes, etc. also impact the prioritization and weight of results populated?

Email Digests and Article Activity

I've noticed that the Email Digests don't capture any activity in the Article application. When looking into the Email Digest settings it looks like GUIDs for each activity is required for the information to populate in the email.

Where do I find the GUIDs to ensure that activities in Articles are captured as part of the digest, and understand which applications/ activities are included in the current digest that is sent?

Closing Event Registrations?

Hi Verint community peeps

I recently added an event into a private group of ours for users to attend a webinar I'm hosting. I'm asking for registrations so I can send the meeting link just to those who registered.

However, I've noticed that I can't add a date/time for when registrations will close which means that anyone can still 'register' for the event right up to the last minute and even during the event until the end time. This causes an issue as I can't be hosting a webinar and at the same time checking for new registrants and sending them a meeting link!

I was expecting to see in the form when you add an event into a calendar, a section to add a date/time for when registrations close to give the hosts time to send out joining instructions etc.

Am I just not seeing it or does it not exist? If not then why not?

Role to view content only for a private group

For a private group can we create a role which only have access to view the content (should not be able to create/edit/delete content for any application in the group). The member role and manager role associated with the group should not be impacted. If so please share the steps.

Migrating from IOAuthData to IExternalLinkedAuthentication

We are migrating our SSO implementation from IOAuthClient to IExternalLinkedAuthentication.

The user is successfully redirected to the external provider, and the authentication flow completes successfully. On the callback, I am calling the SetLinkedUserData method, but the user is not getting logged in afterward.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Search Indexing

I have a question about whether Verint indexes all of the content within in a community. In particular, if a community manager creates static content pages - for things like resources - could those be searched on? So that searching on the product name could return posts, forums, members (maybe) and related resources.

Where can I see 'ratings' about content in reporting?

I'm working with ratings on blog posts (content), see What are Ratings? - User Documentation - Verint Community 13.x - Verint | Telligent Community.

However, in the reporting I can not find the ratings anywhere. I would like to see an overview of what content is rated best and what the score was (on a 1-5 scale). Instead of having to go to all content blog posts one by one, I would like to see this in an overview in reporting.

Is there a way to see this?

Can the homepage show personalized content for returning members using OOTB widgets?

Howdy!

We're currently planning a v13 upgrade and Verint-hosted migration, and I'm working on a homepage redesign for our Community Hub. One of the key improvements we want to make is creating a differentiated experience for returning members vs. first-time visitors.

Specifically, we'd like returning logged-in members to see a personalized "My Community" view on the homepage that surfaces:

• Unread posts and new activity in the groups they belong to
• Upcoming events they've RSVP'd to (or events from their groups)
• Replies to their forum posts or comments
• New votes or status updates on Ideas they've submitted or followed

First-time or infrequent visitors would see a more general welcome/onboarding experience instead.

A few questions:

1. Is this kind of conditional, personalized homepage experience achievable using OOTB v13 widgets? If so, which widgets would you recommend combining to get closest to this?

2. If OOTB widgets can't fully achieve this, is it something Verint Professional Services has implemented for other customers, and roughly how complex is it?

We're also curious whether other community managers have solved for this use case and what approach worked best for you.

I am only in month 4 of community management so I really appreciate the collective expertise here and have already learned a lot from reading the community discussions.

Copy and Pasting Images

Every now and then I post images in my content, across various applications. Sometimes I can copy and paste the image from Word, SnagIt, etc. Other times I have to save it to my desktop and use the Insert feature to upload the image into the post I'm trying to make.

Has anyone else seen this behavior or know why in some cases copy/ paste is acceptable and in others it's not?

When upgrading from 11 to 13 what about sso authentication?

When upgrading from version 11 to 13. The version 11 currently has SSO CookieAuth enabled, with external authentication system. Will it cause any problem after the upgrade? Or can I continue with the upgrade and will able to continue to log in after login. I have been trying to access localaccess page on my app server. But I have not been able to do that. Thanks for any guidance.

CredSpark Survey/Poll not appearing in the Email Digest

Recently we integrated CredSpark with our Community. We embedded CredSpark Survey/Polls in some of our content. However in the email digest those Survey/Polls are not appearing (getting the message "This embeddable may not be viewed in the current render target." in the email). Please suggest anyway we can display those in the digest emails.
