time stamp is different when signed out

We have an ongoing issue whereby the forum content is time stamped correctly when signed in but when signed out it is an hour out. We tried rectifying it by changing the timezone to +1 hour but it makes no difference. We can change the timezone to any country and it always shows 1 hour difference. It seems fine when signed in as it seems to account for daylight saving but there is no option of a timezone for daylight saving for the site. Even if there were, it seems odd that when we change to a country 1 hour behind or ahead of us it doesn't change the timestamp on content viewed as a signed out visitor. I guess we can always wait for the clocks to change but there must be a way of altering this to accommodate daylight saving?

How would I obtain the total number of times a member has logged in within a given time period? Is there a report that tracks this? We want to see how engaged each client is and when they are the most engaged. What are we doing to capture this info? Join Date and Login date are not enough for this data request.

The closest out-of-the-box solution is available within the Auditing section under Monitoring in the Administration Panel.

From there, you can filter audit records by both the action type and the member who performed the action. For example, you could filter for the Authenticated action type and then search for a specific username to view related activity.

By default, the audit log retains approximately two weeks of entries. While a date filter is available, results are generally limited to the retention period of the active audit log. Once entries exceed that retention window, they are moved to the Archive tab within the Auditing area.

Archived audit logs are typically configured to be retained for around 60 days, though both retention periods and archival settings are configurable within the Administration Panel. These settings are managed through the Audit Archive Job configuration.

Based on my experience working across multiple Verint Community implementations, I am not aware of an out-of-the-box report or standard functionality that provides a total login count per member within a specified date range.

The standard user profile data typically includes information such as Join Date and Last Login Date, but these fields do not provide the level of engagement tracking you're looking for, such as the number of logins over time or detailed login frequency analysis by member.

That said, if this level of engagement reporting is important for the team, we'd be happy to explore it further with you. Based on the specific metrics you're looking to track, we can assess whether a custom reporting solution is feasible and review what data may already be available through the platform, APIs, or other reporting mechanisms. From there, we can determine the best approach to providing the login frequency and engagement insights you're looking for.

We’ve worked with a lot of different customers on Verint communities across customer, partner, and employee use cases, and this is a topic that comes up often. Most organizations are trying to solve exactly what you described: less “social profile,” more “help me find the right person.”

A few things we consistently see work well:

1. Profile fields that actually help members connect
The most useful fields tend to be:

Role / department
Product expertise
Industry
Region/time zone
“Topics I can help with”
“Topics I want to learn about”
Certifications or skill level

We also have clients pulling profile data in through SSO/CRM integrations so users don’t have to maintain everything manually. Common examples are:

Role/title
Department
Location
Product ownership
Certification status

And yes — many clients remove or hide older IM-style fields and replace them with things like:

LinkedIn URL
Teams handle
“Ask me about…” fields
Expertise/interests tagging

2. Searchable fields
The searchable fields we most commonly see enabled are:

Product expertise
Role/function
Region
Certifications
“Can help with”
Industry/use case

Members do use profile search, but usually when it supports a clear use case like finding SMEs, peers using the same product, regional contacts, or customer champions.

That said, in many Verint communities, people also discover experts indirectly through:

accepted solutions
badges/ranks
leaderboards
activity widgets
topic participation

3. Driving profile completion
The approaches we’ve seen work best are:

Progressive profiling
Profile completion badges/gamification

What hasn’t worked well:

The strongest Verint profile experiences we see are lightweight, searchable, and expertise-focused rather than “social network” focused.

Would also love to see examples others are willing to share — especially around expertise tagging and profile discovery.

We're revisiting member profiles on our Verint community and looking for inspiration from other admins.

Our goal is to help members find and connect with each other more easily — less about a complete bio, more about surfacing who works on similar things and who's worth reaching out to.

A few specific questions:

1. What custom profile fields have you added, and have they actually helped members connect?
2. Which fields have you made searchable — and do members use profile search in practice?
3. Have you found ways to drive profile completion that actually worked?

I'll admit, after reviewing the default profile field documentation, I was a little surprised that there are fields for AOL IM and Yahoo IM but nothing for LinkedIn or other platforms people actually use today. Curious whether others have modernized their field setup and what you've added or removed? For example, I'd love to find a way to let members flag topics they want to learn more about or feel confident answering questions on. Just something that helps the right people find each other.

Bonus points if you have screenshots to share! We'd love to see examples of profiles that are doing something interesting and useful.

Also open to hearing what hasn't worked, so we don't repeat mistakes others have already made.

Is there a way to change or remove the thumbnail image of an external link in a gallery?

We have a collection of resources for our community, displayed as a gallery. Some files are downloadable, while others are external links. It's unclear where the thumbnails for the external links originate from, and I would like to either remove these previews or replace them with clearer images. However, I haven't found a way to do this through the admin settings or the documentation. I'm seeking suggestions, and if none are available, I'm open to developing a new idea.

Great question—and the answer is a bit of a “yes and no,” depending on how you think about structure in Verint.

All content in Verint technically lives within a group structure. Even the “site” itself is actually considered the top-level group behind the scenes. So in that sense, there isn’t a way to create content that exists completely outside of groups.

That said, you can absolutely create something that functions like a site-wide, group-independent FAQ or wiki.

Verint allows you to create applications directly at the site level (the top-level group), rather than within a specific sub-group. The process is the same as creating an application in any group:

Go to the pencil icon
Select Manage Site (top-level group)
Navigate to Applications
Click Add Application

When you create a wiki or articles application at this level, it isn’t tied to any specific community group from a user perspective—it behaves like a centralized, global resource. You can also permission it just like any other group-level application, so you still have full control over visibility and access.

So practically speaking:

❌ You can’t create content completely outside the group structure
✅ But you can create a site-level (global) FAQ/wiki that feels independent of any one group

Because of this, you don’t necessarily need to create a separate “Community Support” group unless you want that content to be more segmented, branded, or managed independently.

If your goal is something similar to the Element14 support area—a centralized help hub—the site-level application approach is usually the cleanest way to achieve that in Verint.

Howdy! I'm considering creating an FAQ or wiki to support our members, but I want it to be independent of any particular group. Is it possible to have a wiki or collection of articles that isn't attached to a specific group? Or are all resources within the Verint community organized within groups? Alternatively, would I need to establish a Community Support group beforehand?

I was inspired by the Element 14 community: https://community.element14.com/members-area/support/

But I am still learning about Verint Community management, so I'm not well-versed enough in how these pages are set up and structured to be able to recognize the setup...yet 😄

Anyone else seen DM/Message replies sometimes display in triplicate?

Has anyone seen this issue on their site (or Verint's own site) before?

It affects DMs / Messages.. you type in a reply, hit send, then it shows the reply in triplicate (sometimes even more.. we've seen 7 duplicates).

If you reload the page it shows 1 reply was actually sent, so it's purely an intermittent UI bug.

(screenshot of this happening last week on Verint's site running v14)

We raised a support case about this issue, but engineering have been unable to reproduce it, which isn't surprising; we have no idea how it happens either!

If you've seen this please leave a comment, and if you know how to reproduce this that'd be even better! 🙂

Hey Jon Allen I've just realised that TE-19106 was previously logged back in April 2025 in response to a case I raised about being able to create multiple DMs by spamming the enter/send button. That ends up creating actual duplicate DMs that persist between page refreshes.

The problem we're talking about in this thread is where we hit the send button and see the DM sent in triplicate, but when you refresh the page you can see only one DM actually got sent. I.e. it's a UI bug more than anything.

Can you confirm that TE-19106 covers both these scenarios?

Hello! We want to simplify the process for our moderators to connect with new group members. To clarify, I'm not inquiring about new accounts in general, but specifically about members who are new to the group. Is there a way to generate a report that includes members based on their group join date?

Ideally, we would like to pull a weekly report that lists members who have joined in the past week for each group. This way, we can share the information with our group moderators, allowing them to reach out individually to the new members.

Any ideas?

At this time (as far as I know), there isn’t a way to generate a report specifically based on group join date or to automate a weekly report of new members by group in your current version.

Within the Admin panel (Groups → Group Details), you can select an individual group and view summary data showing how many members joined in the past 7 or 30 days. However, this is only a high-level count and doesn’t provide a downloadable list of those specific users.

Looking ahead, this functionality is improved in Version 13. There, Group Membership Exports are available at the group level. These exports can be permissioned (via the Manage Membership permission), so group owners can access them directly. The export includes details like each member’s access level, join date, and last visited date—making it much easier to identify and reach out to new members. The report would still need to be run per group, but it gives you the visibility you're looking for.

If upgrading to Version 13 isn’t on your roadmap just yet, there are some other helpful features and enhancements you might find valuable in the meantime (see Release Notes for Community 13 ). For your specific need, though, achieving a recurring, automated report in Version 12 would require a custom development effort.

Custom IManageableApplicationType - Edit Button Not Showing Fields

I'm developing a custom application type using IManageableApplicationType (Version 2). Create works perfectly, but Edit does not display control panel categories.

Current Behavior

Create (Works):
- URL: #_cptype=panel&_cpcontexttype=Container&_cppanelid=...
- Control panel opens with configuration fields
- Event Log shows: GetCreateConfiguration returned 1 property groups

Edit (Fails):
- Initial URL: #_cptype=category&_cpcontexttype=Application&_cpcontextid={app-type-guid}
- Redirects to: #_cptype=panel&_cpcontexttype=Container&_cppanelid=...
- No control panel categories appear
- Event Logs show CanEdit and Get are called, but ConfigurationOptions and GetEditConfiguration are never accessed

Blog Application Edit (For Comparison):
- URL stays at: #_cptype=category&_cpcontexttype=Application&_cpcontextid={blog-app-type-guid}
- Control panel sidebar shows categories (Blog Options, Post Options, Posts, etc.)
- No redirect occurs

2. Is there a separate interface (like IApplicationControlPanelCategories) needed to register control panel categories for the Application context type?
3. Are GetEditConfiguration and Update methods part of the standard IManageableApplicationType interface? The documentation doesn't mention them.
4. Why does Create use a Container-level panel while Edit tries to use an Application-level category? Is this expected behavior?
5. Is Edit functionality for custom IManageableApplicationType applications supported the same way as built-in applications?

Given that Enter‑to‑Submit is an important usability feature for DMs, is there any guidance you can share on whether Bug TE‑19106 is targeted for a fix in a specific release, or whether customers should plan on keeping this disabled long‑term?

Hi. I looked into this on Friday and it can be duplicated now. It is related to "Enable to Enter-to-Submit" function. That appears to be the only time we can duplicate it. We can duplicate it on 12.1 13 and our pre-14 version. Bug # TE-19106

if you do not use the Enter-to-Submit for now, duplicates will not happen.
