&lt;p&gt;The activity story stream widget allows for the ability to view the activity on the site or within a particular group without having to go directly to that particular piece of content to interact with it:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;View content directly and engage with the content by commenting, replying to comments, sending private messages, liking, hash tagging, and mentioning.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;View thumbnails of all content directly in the stream without having to navigate to each post for details about it. For example, if someone posts a video in the file gallery, an image of the video shows in the activity stream and, if clicked, displays in theater view.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Engage quickly with multiple content items instead of having to individually navigate to each one for commenting or favoriting, etc.&lt;/li&gt;
