We are on Version: 11.1.1.10427
If you begin typing an @mention and then wait for the list to populate, then continue typing and select a user, the mention doesn't work.
However if you type out the username really fast and get the user to load on the first load of the mention suggestion list, it works.
Also, some times it is sporadic where mentioning a user the first time fails, but the second time works.

We put version 11.1.2.11425 on our Staging Environment and @ mentioning is still failing on the first attempt. I'm also able to repro on the telligent community. After I select a username from the dropdown it strips the @ mention and renders as normal text. Re below screenshot. If I @ mention the person a second time, it appears to work.
