A forum is an outlet for opinions expressed in a discussion format or in Q&A. The opinions may form answers to questions or replies to discussions. Forums usually crowd-source information (unlike a blog, which is limited to a single or grouped author).
How is a forum different from other applications?
A forum, whether devoted to discussion threads, Q&A threads, or both, contains crowd-sourced content. This differs from the other Telligent Community applications.
What purpose does this application serve?
Discussion and question/answers are some of the most frequently found content types on the internet. This content type is unique, however, in that it crowd-sources expository information and Q&A. The answers to questions may be the most valuable content in this application.
Telligent Community has 2 features in Q&A which show the usefulness of a reply: (1) "I also have this question," and votes.
Can I draft my question or reply?
No. Forums are often geared toward immediacy in reply.
