Hello
I have a couple of questions around tagging:
- Is it possible to make the tag field a mandatory field?
- Is it possible to re-tag existing content in a bulk/automatic way?
Thanks
Oli
Hello
I have a couple of questions around tagging:
Thanks
Oli
1. That is not possible OOTB. We have built it for clients
2. Yes, thru automation script
OK so customisation route. Thanks Wilfried. Grant Pankonien have you seen any customers try to do either of these things?
We do have an idea around tag moderation which ties into item 2 I'd think: Tag Moderation It is an older idea, but one we're reviewing a bit further internally since tags can be used in a lot of ways now. We do also have the tag moderation on a application: How can I moderate tags within an application?
I'll ask about item 1 internally in terms of complexity, but typically I haven't seen a ton of customers going down the tag required route. Not for any particular reason other than not using tags a bunch, and letting the content do its thing for search. I use them in some instances and not in others, but I haven't gone down the path of guiding users via tag. Perhaps something I should be thinking about more, but I've let search run the show and have typically seen success (unless of course the content you're looking for is just not there).
What is your use case? I'd love to hear more and bounce ideas.
We require tags, and then expose them in a manner that looks like a faceted/filtered search:

So under the covers, the left panel looks like a filtering mechanism, but it's really just a managed set of tags and uses tagged content and search to render the results.

Well you always do all the cool stuff, so I can't lump you into my general comments. I like the look you have, slick!
This looks similar to how 2 customers are now using our Marketplace application and using attributes of a listing for displaying content/learning courses. I didn't think of using it that way, but they did.
Great use of tags, Luke!
