Custom widget version

Is there a way to recover the previous published version of a custom widget? Is it available on disk or somewhere else that it can be recovered from?

Hi SanG, 
 You can use the built-in Revert if you are not in Developer Mode and you are working on a customized default widget, or if you are customizing a widget but have not published the changes. 
 If you are in Developer Mode or you are working on a brand new custom widget, you will need to rely on another backup such as a previous export, a version control system, or a machine-based file history feature. 
 If you are working in version 12.0+, the newly added Auditing feature (Administration > Monitoring > Auditing) can help you track what changes were made between publishes of a widget, to reconstruct it manually if you have no other fallback.
