Search widget for the homepage

To clarify, the site banner widget does have an option to show a search bar only. Screenshot example:

This should be in your 10.3 version, but can confirm it is for sure in v12. Nevertheless, that may serve your purpose.

Sadly it doesn't render like that for me, still looks the same as the search in the header. Maybe it's my version?

I had Michael Kelley pull up a 10.3 environment and he mentioned it looked the same as what I saw, so not too sure why you're seeing something different. Can you post a screenshot of your widget setting and what it renders like? Can PM if you'd rather. Thanks!

Ah ok, I'm following now! Yes, it would have the same rendering as it would elsewhere, but it does give you a standalone search, which I was understanding to be the ask. You could likely apply CSS to that to give it the look you want? I'll confirm, but I had thought 10.3 was using our block style look for search.
