Disable application in a group

Hello 
 Could someone help me understand what happens if I disable an application inside a group please? If I disable a previously live forum for example, would disabling just hide the forum from everyone and keep the content?

 Yes, this is exactly what it does. It hides the application but keeps its content. It can be re-enabled later, if desired.
