Request membership message missing group name

Could you provide your full version number from Administration > About? 

We are currently running 10.2.4.5233

This is a bug in the Group Membership Request modal widget. I've logged a bug to correct this:

As a work-around, you can go to Administration > Interface > Widgets, in the Viewing drop-down, select "Request Group Membership Modal", the widget list should now show only "Request Group Membership". Expand the "Request Group Membership" widget and select Resources. In the list of resources, find the resource with the name "MustLogin". Change the the value to the text you'd like to show, or, to correct the formatting bug, change the ) at the end of group_lowercase to a }

That is great, work around applied and working.

Is it possible to redirect the user to the login page rather than display this message?

While I can reproduce the formatting issue, I cannot reproduce the pop-up being forced open in this version. The default implementation of the group banner widget will already direct the unauthenticated users to the login page when clicking the request access link (and will not honor the automatic opening of the pop-up). Is your Group - Banner widget customized (does it show as edited in Widget Studio)?

Also, to verify, what is the group type for the group having the issue? (this is set in Manage Group > Group Options under Group Type or Group Privacy.

Our group is listed as private listed. If we update this to private unlisted will this provide us with the desired result? Also what impact will this have for existing users and permissions?

I am also looking to customize this "Group Request" pop up message - I followed the steps above and did not see how to change the language. I am on version 11.1.2.11425

I would like to change the text below "Request Membership" to provide a bit more context on WHO can have access to this private group,

This worked thanks! Are you able to customize these messages for different groups? 

To change the message for different groups, you'd need to edit the widget script to detect the contextual group and provide the group-appropriate message.
