email attachments - users posting images

In version 10.0.3.6288, when a user posts a large image in a forum post an email is created with an in line attachment. The resultant email is very large and can result in a sql timeout. Is there a way to stop attachments being included in the email?

There is not currently a way to prevent files from being embedded in outgoing forum notifications. 
 Do you happen to have an exception log export showing the SQL timeout, however? Email sent from notifications should be created on the job server which results in immediate sending and should avoid storage in the DB (which should have avoided the SQL timeout for extremely large messages).
