Is there a way to mark all notifications as "read" in 10.x? If not, I'd like to request one. Sure, I can probably write a plugin and modify the widget appropriately, but I'd rather it be part of the product OOTB.

Currently there is no method that can be called to achieve this OOTB. Its possible to write a custom function that uses the notification list and update methods to achieve this. I can add a feature request to have this added OOTB
That would be awesome. Thanks, Mathew D'Amico!
Hi Robert Miller,
You can mark all notifications read by category which helps a lot. Not from your screen capture but from the notifications Icon in the top menu. Simply click the lightning bolt icon
In the drop-down box, you will see Unread notifications, a list of them, View All and Settings.
on the right of each title banner of each category hover over to see a checkmark, click that for those notifications. do that for each grey heading.
You will see a checkmark and an x for each individual item
Hope this helps :)
This only works for the populated list not for the full list. So if you have - say - 25 items you need at least 3 clicks to clear it.
The other remark is that UX wise this is TOO hidden to notice.
Yes, you are correct, the interface for this feature is hidden for sure, nonetheless its great to know about this hidden gem, the sole purpose of my response!
This works for each of the 5 Categories, so I would expect to click 5 times at a minimum to clear all content if I had a notification in each of the following: For your review, responses to you, responses to discussions you participated in, subscriptions, status updates. I could end up clicking more than 5 times if I decided to do each item under each category. This feature is definitely better than 99 clicks on 99 single notifications under view all for sure!
I appreciate you pointing this out. It is better, but could still be improved for the benefit of all.
