"Sooo, where is the App?"

We had a mobile SDK to allow for the construction of mobile apps to do just that:  https://github.com/Telligent/Mobile-SDK   However it had a very low adoption and had decided to discontinue supporting it or investing in it any further.

I guess these days people expect an App and not an SDK. We are all spoiled by consumerization. All the biggies have an App like Slack and Teams. The fight for attention is won not even in the App but on the Red Counter of the App Thumbnail. This is how people adopt to an ecosystem. Id' be happy with a generic Telligent App in which I need to spec one or more root urls and corresponding ID's. Notifications, Search and Quick posts/Comments would cover 95% of all traffic.

Alternatively one could become a 'connector" in the Teams App or an 'app' in Slack. Collaboration starts with Communication. This where people are these days. Doing nothing imho is not an option anymore. I'd be willing to provide some dev capacity to make this happen.

To be fair, our SDK was actually what you mention -- enter your site details and we gave you a package to build a custom branded app using the PhoneGap build service ( https://community.telligent.com/documentation/w/telligent-community-90/52411/creating-a-branded-app-for-mobile-app-stores )  that you could deploy privately or through the mobile app stores and further customize if you wanted. The only way it could have been easier is to provide a "Telligent" branded app in the mobile app stores that, once installed, your customers must provide details (community URL, for example) to use.

The latter is what I am looking for. Slack and Teams do exactly that and no more and there is a good reason for it. Ease of use and branding. Perhaps the App can grab the logo and title of the community and give it some lipstick but that is it. SDK's are too complex these days despite the flexibility

I'd be more than happy to tell people to download the Telligent App from the AppStore. Good branding for Telligent as well.  At least you are still on the radar of Brian Solis

The "Telligent" branded app is not what our customers said they wanted. They wanted a private branded app. That said, I do recommend posting your suggestion to the product ideation to gauge community interest. A Telligent branded app would be easier to maintain, even if it is a wrapper for the responsive view of the site and handles push notifications (and perhaps "open with" and "open in" for app integration)

I guess an On Brand App is nice until you realize that you need to maintain it. I deem this a bridge too far for most companies. I'm a customer and I say I'd be happy with an Telligent App that captures the logo of my site so it still feels a little On Brand. I cannot find the "Turn this forum post into an Idea" button here () so I will make an idea post in this Forum group with Ideas inside ()
